BANK OF BUTTERFIELD

The seven-storey office building is located on a prominent site on the main square in George Town.  Sharing the public space with iconic ‘high-modern’ buildings, this project addresses its context with its facade.  The building exterior consists of white render, aluminium cladding and curtain-walling finishes, allowing a light modern look for the new Headquarters.

The interior references the exterior design with an airy, double-height banking hall on the ground floor of the building. Within this space an elegant central staircase with curved glass balustrades and contrasting rich dark wood treads is a feature and links the ground floor to the mezzanine above.

The floor finish of the banking hall is a distinctive rich, swirling brown and yellow granite, which contrasts against the minimal white wall finish.

The development includes a 70,000sqft. multi-storey car park.
